OPTA SafeLift

When Someone Falls,
We Lift Them Safely.

Professional, non-emergency lift assistance for seniors and individuals who have fallen but are not injured. A trained 2-person team — not 911.

Currently rolling out through select partner facilities. Private residents can join our early access list.

The Reality

Most Falls Don't Need an Ambulance.
They Need the Right Response.

Every year, millions of older adults fall at home or in care facilities. The majority are not seriously injured — but they cannot get up on their own. Calling 911 for a non-emergency fall sends a fire truck, an ambulance, and a bill. It's disruptive, costly, and often unnecessary.

Falls are the leading cause of injury in older adults — yet most are non-emergency events that don't require paramedics.

~$1,200
Average 911 response cost

An ambulance dispatch for a non-emergency fall can cost over $1,000 — even when no transport occurs. SafeLift costs a fraction of that.

The vast majority of fall responses require only a safe lift, a brief assessment, and reassurance — not emergency medical care.

The Process

Simple. Safe. Professional.

Three steps from the moment you call to the moment your loved one is safely back on their feet.

1

Request Assistance

Call the SafeLift line or activate through your facility's dispatch system. A live coordinator answers immediately — no hold music, no automated menus. They confirm the situation and dispatch the nearest available team.

2

Trained 2-Person Team Responds

A certified 2-person SafeLift team arrives with specialized lifting equipment. Both technicians are trained in safe patient handling, body mechanics, and fall assessment protocols. They introduce themselves, assess the situation, and confirm no emergency care is needed before proceeding.

3

Safe Lift, Assessment & Follow-Up

The team assists the individual back to a safe position using proper technique and equipment. A brief non-medical assessment is completed. If any sign of injury is detected, EMS is activated immediately. A written incident report is provided to the facility or family.

For Facilities

Protect Your Staff.
Serve Your Residents Better.

Falls are the most common incident in senior care facilities — and the most costly to manage. SafeLift gives your team a professional, reliable resource that reduces unnecessary 911 activations, protects staff from injury, and improves the resident experience.

Reduce Unnecessary 911 Calls

Non-emergency falls don't need paramedics. SafeLift handles them professionally, keeping your 911 line clear for true emergencies and reducing costly ambulance dispatches.

Protect Staff from Lifting Injuries

Manual patient lifts are a leading cause of staff injury in care settings. Our trained 2-person teams with specialized equipment eliminate that risk entirely.

Improve Resident & Family Experience

A calm, professional response to a fall — rather than a disruptive emergency dispatch — significantly improves resident confidence and family trust in your facility.

Seamless Operational Integration

SafeLift integrates with your existing incident reporting and dispatch workflows. We provide full documentation for every response, ready for your records.

Why Trust SafeLift

Built on Emergency Services Standards

SafeLift technicians are trained to emergency services standards — not general care aide standards. Every protocol is designed with safety, dignity, and clear escalation in mind.

Emergency Services Background

Our technicians come from firefighting, EMT, and emergency response backgrounds. They've seen real emergencies — and they know the difference.

Always 2-Person Teams

Every response is a 2-person team. No solo lifts. No improvised technique. Proper body mechanics, every time.

Professional Lifting Equipment

We use certified patient lifting equipment — not improvised solutions. The right tool for every situation.

Clear EMS Escalation

If any sign of injury is detected, EMS is activated immediately. SafeLift never delays emergency care. Safety first, always.

Responsible Guidance

When to Call SafeLift vs. 911

SafeLift is not a replacement for emergency services. This guidance is provided to help you make the right call quickly.

Call SafeLift when:
Non-emergency fall response
  • Person has fallen and is alert and responsive
  • No suspected broken bones or serious injury
  • No loss of consciousness occurred
  • No chest pain, difficulty breathing, or stroke symptoms
  • Person is unable to get up safely on their own
  • Staff or family cannot safely assist without risk of injury
Call 911 immediately when:
Emergency medical response required
  • Person is unconscious or unresponsive
  • Suspected broken bone, head injury, or spinal injury
  • Chest pain, difficulty breathing, or stroke symptoms
  • Significant bleeding that cannot be controlled
  • Person is in severe pain or distress
  • Any situation where you are unsure — always err on the side of caution

When in doubt, call 911 first. SafeLift technicians will also activate EMS if any sign of injury is detected on arrival.

FAQ

Common Questions

Is SafeLift a medical service?
No. SafeLift provides non-medical lift assistance. Our technicians are trained in safe patient handling and fall assessment, but they do not provide medical treatment. If a medical emergency is identified, EMS is activated immediately.
How is SafeLift different from calling 911?
Calling 911 for a non-emergency fall dispatches paramedics, a fire truck, and often an ambulance — at significant cost and disruption. SafeLift sends a trained 2-person team with the right equipment, designed specifically for non-emergency lift assist. It's faster, calmer, and far less costly.
Who are the SafeLift technicians?
SafeLift technicians are recruited from emergency services backgrounds — firefighters, EMTs, and emergency responders. They are trained in safe patient handling, body mechanics, fall assessment, and clear EMS escalation protocols.
What if the person is injured when the team arrives?
If any sign of injury is detected on arrival or during the assessment, the SafeLift team activates EMS immediately and stays on scene until paramedics arrive. We never delay emergency care.
How do I access SafeLift as a private resident?
SafeLift is currently available through select partner facilities. We are expanding to private residences soon. Join the early access list above to be notified when SafeLift launches in your area and to secure founding member pricing.
How does the facility partnership work?
We work directly with your operations and clinical team to integrate SafeLift into your existing incident response workflow. We provide staff training, dispatch protocols, and full incident documentation for every response. Contact us to schedule a pilot program discussion.
Is there a membership or subscription?
Facility partnerships are structured as service agreements. For private residents, we are developing a monthly membership model that will be available at launch. Early access members will receive founding member pricing.
